Belfour is coming in for physical
Some folks at Lets Go Wings forum heard from Kevin Allen on WDFN that Ed Belfour is coming in for a physical tomorrow. I’m kindly asking Holland to look towards a trade instead of going the Belfour/Hasek route. Please? I don’t think I could better express myself than redwings1914:
Stevie has retired.
Ben Wallace signed with Chicago.
We are interested in bringing back Hasek
Ed Belfour is coming for a physical tomorrow.
Paris Hilton has a #1 hit song.Yup, this must be the apocalypse.
On the other hand, Paul Kukla says that Mike Babcock went on Fan 590 earlier today and heard rumors that Belfour is heading to Florida. I hope Babcock is right.
The Wings are expecting a decision from Shanny within 2-3 days. Hadley on Sports reports that Brendan Shanahan is asking $5.5 million.
To date, I’ve learned that three teams have offered Shanahan a deal around $4 million for the upcoming campaign. Hence, it is doubtful that Shanahan will garner his asking price… even at $4 million this season there is reason to be cautious.Shanahan is a Hall of Fame Player and one of the dozen best power forwards to ever lace the skates however considering the current state of this organization… considering a penny over $4 million would be a huge mistake.
Ottawa has offered a three-year deal… the longest term, while Boston was the first team to hit around the $4 million mark. Seeing Shanahan wear the ‘Note again would be sweet however irresponsible at $5.5 million.
Each day, I see our list of potential UFA signings grow smaller and smaller. I know I should trust Holland, but we have done absolutely nothing except for re-sign 3 players. And watch one of the best of all time retire. Are there any other teams that haven’t signed any new/fresh players?
