30% of MLB players polled pick Tigers
Sports Illustrated conducts a weekly poll where they ask a certain sport a question. This week’s lovely poll asked 391 MLB players who they thought would win the world series and they couldn’t choose their own team. Thanks to Mack Avenue Tigers for the link.
The Chicago White Sox, last year’s winner, has the highest percentage of votes with 32%. The Detroit Tigers come in second with 30% of the vote. Quite impressive. As we know all too well (we being Pistons and Wings fans), the regular season means nothing once it hits playoff time.
I’m heading to Mackinaw Island this weekend to visit a friend who is waitressing at a hotel there. Anyways, a different friend called me up asking what I was doing Saturday and so I told her. She informed me that she was going to offer me a free ticket to the Tiger’s game on Saturday. Which would’ve been a nice offer anyways, but it got worse or better depending on how you look at it. The seats were in the owner’s box. Big bummer.

Always nice to see who is reading, thanks for linking!
I’d take the Tigers tickets. That UP island isn’t going anywhere!

Thanks for the comment! And it wasn’t a weekend trip I could blow off…I’ve been planning it since mid-June for this weekend because the two friends I’m driving up with go to school in the summer and work so this was the one weekend that worked in all of our schedules…I’m hoping that the offer will come again as the friend is family friends with the Ilitch family (rather, the daughter of the Tigers/Wings owner - Denise Ilitch). And keep up the good work on your blog - I only recently discovered it and was disappointed that I hadn’t found it earlier!
