Away

There won’t be much posting today as my mom was in a bad accident: she was stopped at a red light with 2 cars in front of her and one behind her when a big van hit the cadillac behind her at 50 mph. So I’ll be taking care of her and driving my brothers to practices and whatnot since our Aviator is probably totaled, my mom’s Denali is in the shop, and our Envoy’s transmission seems like it’s about to go…

    In 7 days it will be 1 year since some punk kid lost control of his car, skidded and hit my parents head on while driving home. Mom didn’t get to see the house again until the day before Thanksgiving, while the kid was able walked away from the accident.
    Getting ‘the call’ and dealing with that sort of situation is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

    Hope things work out for you and your mom.

    Thanks Alanah, AQ, and Mike for the well wishes for my mom. She went to the hospital yesterday and they said she might have a concussion and then definitely whiplash. So she’s just really sore. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt as in staying in the hospital longer than outpatient stuff.
