Gagne talking with Detroit
According to someone on Red Wings World, they heard Simon Gagne talking on a radio station in Philly. Here’s what they summarized about his interview.
Simone Gagne was on 6.10 WIP in Philly today and said he has been in talks with Detroit about a contract for a few days now. The Flyers have been low balling him and he is very upset he said. He would not go any further if Detroit has or hasn’t offered a contract yet.
Take this as you will since I didn’t hear him on the station and cannot verify these comments.

What makes that unlikely is the fact that Gagne is an RFA, not a UFA, and one who is likely to get more than $5 million when he gets signed. Wouldn’t the Flyers have to give the Wings permission to talk to Gagne? With Bobby Clarke so optimistic that he’ll reach a deal, I don’t think that’s very likely. The only way I can see Gagne in a Wings uniform would be as the result of a trade but that doesn’t likely either.
