Niklas Kronwall Autograph Signing
The Goalies’ Den will be hosting an autograph signing with Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall on October 29th (Sunday) from 2-4pm. What’s special about this place is that they let people bring items they want signed in advance and were able to pick it up later if they couldn’t make it to the signing for an extra $5 charge.
I’ve been debating if I want to buy a Hank or Kronwall jersey and I’m pretty sure I’m going to go with Kronwall. I tend to like the players who overcome severe knee injuries and Hank (fortunately) hasn’t had any that I know of. So I might buy a Kronwall jersey and then get it signed as well as an 8×10 photo, because I do need more signed memorabilia…
Where: The Goalies’ Den in Troy
When: October 29th from 2-4pm
Cost: $10
Gordie Howe will also be doing an autograph signing at The Goalies’ Den, but not until December 17th from 1-5pm.

One more autograph signing to be aware of…
This Saturday night on October 14th, the Plymouth Whalers play the London Knights. After the game, the team is doing an autograph session so if you want autographs of up and coming players, be sure to make it to the game and stay afterwards!

hank had a broken leg from a slash in his sophmore season…maybe his rookie year.

Johnny- Yeah, I do remember Hank’s broken leg in fall of 2003. I saw him crutch by while I was interviewing Jason Williams that season. And while I admire all NHL players who have suffered serious injuries, I am particularly fond of knee injuries (ligament & cartilage) because of my own knee issues… Thanks for the comment!

I have a question that you maybe can answer. Why do they charge for autographs? Dion Phaneuf and Miikka Kiprusoff are signing near me on Friday night and I’ve been debating going but am a little put off by the signing fee.

Hockeygirl- That’s a good question. My guess is that they have to pay the athlete to get him at their store to sign autographs and thus the fee covers his appearance fee as well as help them make a small profit. The closest to a free autograph I’ve gotten was a Darren McCarty one and the “fee” was bringing a certain amount of mittens for a shelter in downtown Detroit (which I didn’t mind).
The players are really busy and I bet to make it worthwhile for them to spend at least a couple hours of their free time signing autographs, their needs to be some money in it for them or a charity…
