2002 WCF Highlights
I miss the fun and joy of the 2002 Western Conference Finals against the Colorado Avalanche. There are two fun for the whole family examples of this excellent series: (1) Roy’s Statue of Liberty and (2) Roy allowing 6 goals on 16 shots in Game 7. Enjoy!

Thanks Christy. Couple things. What a pass from Larionov on Robitaille’s goal. What a gift Igor had.
Bittersweet in that I miss Fedorov (timely statement 20 minutes before the game tonite) and I miss ESPN.
Was that Datsyuk’s last postseason goal?

My memory of Game 7 was watching it at my best friend’s house. She was calling her sister-in-law with scoring updates. I remember her call at 4-0: “It’s four-nothing. (pause) No, I am not [expletive deleted] with you!”

IwoCPO- I do believe that was Datsyuk’s last postseason goal. Isn’t that just awful? I miss the Russian 5. I realize that they all didn’t play in 2002 WCF, but I remember watching them when I was little and it was just so beautiful.
Joe- Thanks for the comment! Yeah, it was awesome having it go to Game 7 with such a hatred for each other and then to rock Patrick Roy and send him to the bench was just a beautiful thing.
