11/07 Wings Notes
- A brief paragraph at the end of Ansar Khan’s article states that Brad Norton will inform GM Ken Holland by Wednesday if he will decide to retire or report to the Grand Rapids Griffins, Detroit’s AHL affiliate. I was surprised to read that he may retire. I thought he was deciding between Grand Rapids and playing in overseas.
- A Detroit News article today discusses defenseman Niklas Kronwall’s start to the season - strong on defense, but sour on offense. Kronwall has only three assists in 14 games. Kronwall realizes he has had some good chances to score and that it’s just a matter of time before he starts lighting up the scoreboard.
“As long as the chances are there, some day the puck is going to go in, and once that first one goes in, hopefully it’ll keep rolling,” Kronwall said. “I have to stick with it, jump into the rush and into the play when the chances are there.”
- Defenseman Mathieu Schneider expects to play in Wednesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers. He has been out with an injured groin.
“Had some jump today,” Schneider said. “Made it through the whole practice no problem, 100%. Shouldn’t get any soreness tomorrow. As long as that’s good, I’m ready to go.”
