Hasek & Chelios injured

Both Dominik Hasek and Chris Chelios have suffered minor injuries that will prevent them from playing in tonight’s game against Chicago at the Joe, which I will be attending. Hasek is out with a thigh injury and won’t play tonight or in Sunday’s game against Colorado. Chelios has a sore groin.

Chris Osgood will start in his place and Jmmy Howard, recalled from Grand Rapids, will be the back-up…Coach Mike Babcock said neither injury is significant.

Brett Lebda, who missed practice Thursday because of the flu, will play tonight.

Fortunately for Wings fans, it’s just Hasek’s thigh that is feeling a little tight and hopefully some rest will settle it down. As long as this injury doesn’t transform into a groin injury, I’m okay.

“I had a little bit of tightness after the game against Chicago (Tuesday) and yesterday at practice,” Hasek said. “There’s a bit of tightness in my thigh and the trainers said it would be good to stay off the ice.

“There’s not a big concern, but a month and a half before the playoffs, I want to be very careful and just to be sure there is no tightness and play at the highest level.”

Hmmmm, going to Chicago to see a Wings/Hawks game,, going to the Joe to see Chicago on the road, giving the United Center the nod in comparison with the Joe, what is next, a transfer to Northwestern? Becoming a Cubs fan??
Be careful not to doom yourself !!

Doomsberry- Have no fear, I will never turn to the dark side. It’s my spring break and it just so happened that the two Wings games I could go to this week were against Chicago. Trust me, I wish they had been against Nashville or another playoff contender.
