Lidstrom scores 200th goal
Here’s a photo taken by the Detroit News right after Nicklas Lidstrom acknowledges the crowd for cheering him on after scoring his 200th goal.

Yep, I’m the chick second to the left cheering on Lidstrom. Yep, that’s pretty cool. The print version of the paper still has me (and on the cover of the sports section), but the guys to the right of Lidstrom have been cut off.
So how did I get those seats?
I like to think of myself as a seat filler. Remember in Seinfeld when Kramer worked as a seat filler at the Tony Awards so that when someone was using the restroom, the TVs didn’t pick up the empty seats? Well, after sitting in our upper bowl seats for the first period we saw that no one was sitting in these two prime glass seats on the opposite side of the rink. We quickly walked over there and they became our seats. It would be such a waste if those fantastic seats remained empty for the rest of the game and the cameras picked that up so we thought we’d help them out and fill up those two seats.
I’ll post more photos that we took from last night’s game when I get back from work tonight!

[…] Someone quipped that Detroit outscored Chicago 8-0 in that game. I like Jason Williams so it was nice to see him do well in Chicago. But I have no doubts the trade was the right move, as the Calder trade has coincided with a second line that has once again become a scoring line. Meanwhile Christy over at Behind the Jersey was able to upgrade her seats and get a nice view of Nick Lidstrom’s 200th goal from the front row. […]

Christy, so that -was- you! I’m guessing those are different seats than the first ones on the glass that we all got kicked out of, but I’m the girl you were sitting next to for a while there - I half recognized you and then I think you said your name to your friend talking about birthdays on the screen and I turned to my friend and said something like “I think that’s the other Red Wings blogger at hlog!” but then something excited happened game-wise and I got distracted from ever asking you. Anyway that’s awesome, glad to see you guys still ended up with great seats and a front row view for that goal - and it was nice sort of meating you hahah!

JJ & Buck- Thanks for the comments! And sadly, there is always a lot of empty seats. It actually got pretty crowded by the middle of the 2nd period, but then it thinned out half way through the third period.
Steph- Haha. That’s so funny! Yep, those were different seats. After we got kicked out of the seats by you, we went pretty much across the ice to the two empty seats on the other side. Go Wings!
