THN picks Holland as top GM
The Hockey News’ latest issue ranks the current NHL GMs. No. 1? Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland. While I don’t think Holland is the best GM in the NHL, I think that THN’s rankings are much better than the Forbes’ rankings which listed the top 90 GMs in all of the four major sports (Holland was #90 on that list, only 6 below the Detroit Lions’ Matt Millen). Larry Pleau, the GM for the St. Louis Blues, was named the worst NHL GM by THN.

The New Jersey general manager has done a great job through the draft and finding any loophole he can to take fullest advantage of the salary cap.
