Wings to face Calgary
Due to Colorado’s loss against Nashville tonight (by a score of 4-2), there is no way for the Avs to make it into the playoffs. Therefore, the Wings (#1 seed) will unfortunately play Calgary (#8 seed). Why do I say unfortunately? Well…
- The Wings don’t do well with Western Canada. It’s far away and they always beat us on the road.
- Time difference. I don’t like late night playoff games (esp during finals)- it can kill you!
- Calgary has been on fire of late and their goalie could cause us big problems.
All in all, it’s going to be a tough series for the Wings, but I bet you I’ll get to use my tickets now (Game #5 of the first round) because I don’t think either team has a chance of sweeping the other.
Since the Buffalo Sabres beat the Washington Capitals earlier today, the Sabres won the Presidential’s Trophy. I’m not upset that the Wings didn’t win the Trophy and it’s weird that the Wings are kind of the underdogs this postseason even though they have the number one slot in the West. Not that it’s a bad thing.
