Bertuzzi cleared to play Sunday
Wings’ forward Todd Bertuzzi has passed baseline testing for his concussion and it looks like he will play Sunday. He has practiced and feels okay, but we’ll have to see if he practices today before the decision will likely be made by the training staff.
“I feel pretty good right now and don’t have headaches or anything anymore, which is nice,” Bertuzzi said Friday. “I did a workout yesterday for the first time — I stayed away from doing any activities for six days, so that’s six days doing nothing and then coming back and then getting started back up again. So it’s like my third training camp all over again. But I’m happy where I’m at — I’m fit enough. I’d love to be in there as soon as possible.”
When he returns, Bertuzzi will be wearing a visor and playing on a line with Robert Lang and Kyle Calder. Rookie Jiri Hudler will likely be the odd man out.
