Wings 3, Sharks 2 (OT)

The Wings win!!!!!!!

The Wings deserved to win. Despite being down by two goals for half the game, they were physical and had control of the game for a good amount of the time (but admittedly not all of the time). Oh, the Sharks second goal shouldn’t of happened. Not only did it deflect off the top of Andreas Lilja’s helmet (you don’t usually see that), but San Jose had too many men on the ice. Unfortunately, you can’t review that so the goal stood.

The Wings came from behind including Tomas Holmstrom’s first goal of the playoffs and a goal by Robert Lang with 33 seconds left in the game to send it into OT. I had just finished asking my dad, “Why is Lang out there now!?” And then he pleasantly surprises me by scoring a huge goal. And then Mathieu Schneider rips a shot from the point to win the game with less than five minutes remaining in OT.

Unfortunately, it’s 1:30am and I have about an hour’s worth of German homework to do so I don’t have time to write anything else. I’ll try to post during my hour break tomorrow around lunch. Go Wings!!!

I swear I’d just said the SAME thing about why they had Lang out there to the guys I was watching the game with and then he came through! I suppose I should know better than to question :)

Lang still makes me crazy. But I’ll take the win. Was that a nervewracking game or what?? Oy.
