Thrashers re-sign Kozlov

Another possible forward for the Wings has been signed. Slava Kozlov re-signed with the Atlanta Thrashers for another three years at $11 million.

The 35-year-old Russian recorded a career-high 80 points (28-52) in 81 games with the Thrashers last season, his fourth with the team. The 5-10, 190-pound winger ranked second on the team in points and assists, and finished third in goals.

He also placed first on the club and set a franchise record with eight game-winning goals, and led the league with five shootout game-deciding goals.

The Wings needed a bigger forward, which Kozlov is not, but the options are quickly dwindling and he was a possibility.
