The Detroit Red Wings will open their playoff run against the Nashville Predators this Thursday at 7pm at Joe Louis Arena. Below is the schedule, well what we have so far, for this quarterfinal round.

Sat., April 12, 2008 2:00 PM Nashville at Detroit NBC
Mon., April 14, 2008 TBD Detroit at Nashville VERSUS
Wed, April 16, 2008 TBD Detroit at Nashville VERSUS (JIP)

Sun., April 20, 2008 3:00 PM Detroit at Nashville NBC
Tues., April 22, 2008 TBD Nashville at Detroit

Can’t say I’m a fan of the 2pm start whatsoever. I’ll have more on this series match up after I’ve turned in a couple big papers this week. Go Wings!

What don’t you like about 2pm? At least it’s 90 minutes before Master’s coverage starts. I was dreading having to switch back and forth between them.

  2. Steve James Says:

Do the interns work the playoff games too?

Cup Finals, game 7, Christy says: “I have to go to work AGAIN?!” We’d feel real sorry for you.

  3. Joe Hass Says:

A matinee start like that is just a screwy time for the players. And 2:00? That “Ironman Triathlon” at 5:00 better be one helluva broadcast! Though knowing how much NBC abhors the NHL, if the game runs long, watch them move the broadcast to Versus.

My favorite is Game 4: “Joined In Progress?” Exactly what decade are we in now?

Christy: Will FSN Detroit will pick up the non-NBC games in this round? IIRC, their exclusivity doesn’t start until the conference finals.

  4. Steph Says:

I have tickets to Saturday’s game…and I also have to work, in Kalamazoo, a baseball game that starts at 1. Needless to say I’m a million times less than thrilled about the 2 pm game too. Crap.

  5. Christy Hammond Says:

Steve- Yep, I work all the playoff games and I obviously don’t mind at all working every game! It’s a lot more stressful trying to get everything done in time for the game. We have to get X done 2.5 hours before the game so if it’s at 7:30pm, we just have to have it done by 5pm (and I get in at 9am). If it’s a 2pm game, we have to get that same stuff done by 11:30am and get there between 7-8am. So our stress level just goes up because there isn’t as much time to get tasks accomplished…

Joe- FSN Detroit will pick up the non-NBC games in the first round.

Steph- Yeah, that really sucks. Is there any way you can get out of work?
