Predators beat Red Wings, 5-3
The Nashville Predators defeated the Detroit Red Wings tonight, 5-3, in Nashville. The final Predators’ goal was an empty netter. For a complete breakdown of what went on during the game, be sure to check out Joe’s live blog here.
I don’t have much time to comment on the game as I have a big final exam tomorrow morning, but I did want to say:
CRAP.
Certainly, it’s not the end of the world and I didn’t predict a sweep. But now the stress of the playoffs is definitely on and after having a 2-0 lead and then a 3-2 lead in the game, it’s certainly a frustrating loss.
But you have to hand it to Nashville for continuing to come back and we finally saw some offensive production from the likes of Jason Arnott and David Legwand returned to the line-up. The crowd at the Sommet Center certainly was a factor in giving the team a much needed boost after their two key goals so you have to hand it to the fans as well. The series is on and let’s just hope the Wings come back Wednesday to take a 3-1 series lead before heading home.

I personally would love to see Kronwall continue his amazing hit streak. If he continues the way he has this will prove to be a very entertaining Playoff season.
Nashville is definitely holding themselves together when it comes to crunch time, a point which has caused me much personal strife, but I commend them on their effort. they certainly aren’t a team that we can easily overlook in the pursuit of sir stanley.
