Introducing the Penguins
For the BTJ regular readers, I wanted to point you all to my favorite Penguins blogs. But before I do, I couldn’t resist the urge to insert a couple of my favorite commercials of all time. I was 9 years old and I remember watching the 1996 playoffs. The Wings were playing well, which is why the Bud Ice Penguin commercials are forever ingrained in my head. From an early age, I started to associate hockey playoffs with beer, Bud Ice beer. “Drink Bud Ice, but, uh, beware of the penguins.”

That is most certainly Johnny Knoxville in the first Bud Ice commercial! He must be a Red Wings fan…
